WWE Comings and Goings
Post Preview
At the start of the new year, many people clean houses. It turns out that the WWE does, too. The trickle of departures in November 2024 gave way to a flood in February 2025. Fans needn’t lament, though, because after 90 days pass, their favorite main card draws can join a rival wrestling association.
What’s with the 90-day wait? The WWE has a contract stipulation that any main roster wrestler must wait 90 days before joining a competing wrestling outfit. It applies whether the individual quits or gets fired.
Incoming WWE Wrestlers
The roster cuts opened many top-billed slots for new characters. As an article in Newsweek reveals, the WWE registered 12 trademarks on February 9, 2025. Although the paperwork submitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office doesn’t reveal the names of the athletes who will fill the roster slots, it does give the new character names:
- Aria Bennett
- Braxton Cole
- Osiris Griffin
- Masyn Holiday
- Haze Jameson
- Draco Knox
- Trill London
- Chantel Monroe
- Jax Presley
- Harley Riggins
- Summer Sorrell
- Tate Wilder.
Now that you know what names you’ll come across as the year builds toward WrestleMania 41, let’s consider who they’ll replace.
Outgoing WWE Wrestlers
According to USA Today, 10 main roster stars left WWE in February, joining November’s three departures. The February departures include:
- Cedric Alexander
- Authors of Pain comprised Akam and Rezar
- Paul Ellering, Author of Pain Manager
- Blair Davenport
- Isla Dawn, former WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship holder with Alba Fyre
- Sonya Deville of the Pure Fusion Collective
- Good Brothers comprised of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows
- Giovanni Vinci, Imperium co-founder and former two-time NXT Tag Team Championship holder with Ludwig Kaiser.
They join three wrestlers released on November 1, 2024—Baron Corbin, a former United States Champion; Indi Hartwell, a former NXT Women’s Champion; and Tegan Nox, according to Wrestling, Inc.
When Will We See the New Talent?
WWE mastermind Vince McMahon doesn’t give away his release schedules. The sports business executive has made surprise announcements a trade secret. Watch televised and live bouts to meet the new competitors and get to know the future WWE superstars.
According to ITN WWE, fans have more than 40 opportunities scheduled in February, March, and April for the introductions to take place at televised live matches across the U.S., culminating with the two-day Wrestlemania shows on April 19 and 20, and the follow-up RAW show on the 21st. At this time, the WWE has scheduled only eight post-Wrestlemania shows.
