4 ETIQUETTES TO FOLLOW WHEN USING PORTABLE RESTROOMS AT A WEDDING

Portable restrooms are among the most convenient options for events, construction work, and even camping. Not only are they convenient, but they are also easy to use, eco-friendly, and a more efficient option. They come in different styles to cater to your different event needs and budget.

For outdoorsy people, renting a portable restroom for your wedding, your next group hangout, or a party is a great idea! However, there are a few etiquettes that you are expected to adhere to when using these restrooms at a wedding:

Leave it neater than you found it.

The thing about portable restrooms is that they get messy quickly. This is because there are people who go in, do their business, and leave without considering how the next person would meet it. Don’t be that person. When you have to use the restroom, go in, do your business, flush it, wipe the seat, and put the lid down.

Standard porta-potties are immaculate to ensure the health and hygiene standards of the users. There are usually sinks and other toiletries, like toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Use these and leave the stalls neater than you found them for a general, wholesome experience for yourself and the next guest. Who knows, you might need to use the restroom again, and the only available stall would be the one you left messy.

Avoid hogging the restroom.

While the wedding party is going on, it’s understandable that you might need to step out, breathe, recharge, and head back to join the party. You might need to smoke, scroll through TikTok while you’re doing your business, or even just hide out because you were dragged to the party and you couldn’t say no (trust me, I’ve been there, done that), but a portable restroom is not the place for it.

These restrooms are there for the convenience of other guests, not just you, and there are other people who probably really need to go while you’re in there. So be nice, use the restroom, and leave so that someone else can have their turn. You wouldn’t want to be the one who had to go while there was someone in there watching a TikTok video about kittens.

The restroom should be just a restroom.

A porta-potty is not the place to leave cigarette butts, chocolate bar wrappers, chewed bubblegum, or doodle your crush’s name on the wall.

If there are already set guidelines for using the portable restroom at the wedding, make sure to adhere to them strictly. Calmly wait your turn if there’s someone in the stall. If there’s a malfunctioning stall or toiletry missing, bring it to the attention of one of the wedding staff so it can be fixed. If it can’t be fixed, a sign would be put up to prevent other guests from experiencing the same inconvenience.

Maintain personal hygiene.

It’s great to leave the environment clean, as it ensures the comfort of you and everyone else at the wedding, but how about just you? Taking care to wash your hands after using the restroom, using a hand sanitizer, and wiping properly ensures you’re free from germs and safe from whatever might negatively affect your health.

Following these etiquettes would guarantee a generally comfortable experience for you and others at the party.
