Everything You Need to Pack for Your Next Ski Trip

Did you know that there are around 470 ski resorts in the United States? Some of the most popular ski resorts in the world are in Colorado, California, Utah, and Vermont.

Whether you are an expert or a beginner, planning a ski trip can take a lot of work. You have to choose the right location, pick a resort, and pack all your belongings.

What should you pack for a ski trip? Keep reading to learn about everything you need to bring when you go skiing.

Ski Clothes

Some of the most essential items to pack for your ski trip are ski clothes. Without ski clothes, you will be cold and wet. Packing layers is ideal so you can take clothes off if you get too hot. Proper layering helps regulate your body temperature and knowing what to wear under ski pants is crucial for your overall comfort, safety, and enjoyment while skiing.

Keep in mind that your clothes also will get wet, so choose clothes that are still warm when wet. You should bring a waterproof jacket, pants, base layers, gloves, wool socks, and a winter hat.

It can be good to pack a couple of ski outfits so that you don’t have to do laundry every day.

Ski Gear

While you can rent ski gear at the resort, you should consider bringing your own. Your equipment will fit you better and be in better condition than rental gear.

If you don’t want to worry about flying with your gear, consider shipping it ahead. You will need skis, ski poles, goggles, a helmet, and sunglasses.

Casual Clothing

In addition to taking ski clothing and equipment, you also will need to pack casual clothing. These will be the clothes you change into after a long day of skiing.

You should pack clothing that is warm, comfortable, and stylish. If you plan on going out to eat, consider bringing at least one formal outfit. You should pack warm sweaters, jackets, pants, and sleepwear.

Toiletries

Anytime you are packing for a trip, you need to bring your toiletries. Even though your ski trip will be in the winter, pack sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.

You also should bring lotion to soothe dry and wind-burnt skin. You can pack lip balm, deodorant, a hairbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo. If you forget any of these items, your resort may provide them.

Other Essentials

Before leaving for your ski trip, make sure you pack essential items. This will include your ski tickets, driver’s license, wallet, insurance cards, and medication.

These items are hard to replace during your trip, so forgetting them can make your vacation stressful.
