2. Minnewaska State Park Reserve in New York
Minnewaska State Park Reserve is only about 100 miles away from New York City. But when you’re camping in this state park reserve, the Big Apple is going to feel like it’s about a million miles away.
It’s situated right on the Shawangunk Ridge, which puts it at over 2,000 feet above sea level. It’s also surrounded by lots (and lots!) of rocky terrain. This makes it an ideal place for hiking, biking, and enjoying the beauty in and all around it.

3. Dry Tortugas National Park in Florida
When you imagine spending time near some of the largest barrier reefs in the entire world, you might not automatically imagine doing it while camping. You might also not imagine doing it while hanging out here in the U.S.

5. Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming
Similar to Texas, the whole state of Wyoming has lots of camping spots for you to enjoy. It makes it difficult to pick just one over all the rest.
But we’re willing to bet that you’ll love Grand Teton National Park, which is situated just slightly north of Jackson Hole. It will provide you with a sneak peek of the Rocky Mountains while also giving you great views of the National Elk Refuge that is located right next door.
