Greetings, my DIY enthusiasts; I hope you have a ta-riffic time working from home or even staying at home. You must be guessing what jazzed us up today! I stencil a featured wall in my front room, and guess what? It improved the aesthetics and brought life to my wall.

Materials Checklist-All you need for this adventure

  • 12’’x 18’’ Floral Cascade Damask stencil
  • Paper towels
  • Stencil brush
  • Antique Gold Royal Stencil Cream
  • Painters tape

What type of Stencil should I choose?

You will find different patterns of stencils, it completely depends upon your taste, but you need to be sure of stencil size, as it has to do with all the jargon on your wall

  • (5.5 x 8.1 inches)
  • (8.1 x 11.5 inches)
  • (11.5 x 6.3 inches)
  • (12 x 18 inches)
  • (16.3 x 23.2 inches)

These sizes are available on Amazon and come by the name ‘Wall Stencils’; the good thing is that they are reusable. Just clean it with latex paint remover, and it is ready for reinventing the other walls in your home. Here’s how to get started

1-Make sure you have all the materials listed above. You can get them from any party supply store or order on Amazon.

2-As I was doing it for the first time, my wall was painted a single off-white color. I just took up the Stencil and taped it on the wall. I chose the main wall of my room, which I see when I enter the room. You can choose any wall.

3-Make sure you know how many stencils you can go for on one wall. My wall was 10×14(feet). 9 times stencil gave a perfect, enriched look for this type of wall measurement.

Step-by-step Guide to Make a Feature Wall

4- Once the Stencil is pasted on the wall, as a first-timer, we need to be sure of its ‘level,’ make sure your Stencil is taped at right alignment.

5- Load your brush with antique gold royal stencil crème and off-load it on any paper towel. You will get to know how much crème you need every time while rubbing it on Stencil, tada! You know all the basics of how to stencil.

This is something that nobody tells

6- Now, here is a basic trick nobody tells you, but I do not want your first attempt to be spoiled. Once your Stencil is in place, and you have brushed over the cream on the Stencil, wait for at least 10 minutes. Carefully, please take off the Stencil, make sure there is no extra crème lurking around, and place it at an equal distance but the same alignment to bring uniformed patterns on the wall.

7-     However, it took a couple of hours, but the outcome was astounding. It gave a complete royal and subtle look to my front room.
