What is the normal CPU temp during gaming

When you play games, your whole computer 8er can be great.  This is perfectly normal because the CPU and GPU are calculating millions every second so that you can easily play the game you are watching.  But what is the normal CPU temperature during gaming?

Your CPU temperature should not exceed 80 ° C (176 ° F).  The average CPU temperature range is between 75 ° C (167 ° F) and 80 ° C (176 ° F).  If your CPU temperature rises above that, you may experience performance issues, errors, crashes, and even damage to your hardware.

But is this something you should worry about too much?  What can you do to fix your CPU temperature?  Do some games raise the CPU temperature higher than others?  Let’s take a closer look at this topic to learn more about CPU temps.

What is the normal CPU temp during gaming?

Let’s start by explaining some of the things that can affect your CPU temps.  First of all, the more powerful the CPU, the more power it will normally use.  At the same time, new CPUs are becoming more efficient in terms of “performance per watt”.  In other words, newer CPUs are more efficient per watt than older watts.

So, if you have, let’s say Ryzen 9 5900X, your CPU TDP (Thermal Design Power) will be 105W.  This is more or less the maximum power that an advanced CPU will use today.  This also means that this high end CPU will heat up more than the lower end CPU during games involving extremely intense CPUs like Total War: War Hammer 2.  It can also reach 98 ° C (208 ° F).

But if you have a low-end CPU with a TDP of 65W, it should heat up very little.  Even if you run games connected to the CPU, the CPU will not overheat.  So this means that the normal CPU temperature during gaming will depend on your CPU.  Then what is the normal CPU temperature during gaming?

Above 75 ° C (167 ° F) to 80 ° C (176 ° F) is the best and safest maximum temperature range your CPU can reach.  If your CPU stays above 85 ° C (185 ° F) all the time during gaming, you may have a problem with overheating which can seriously reduce the age of your CPU or  It can even eliminate it completely.  This is for both low end and CPU.

So, how can you lower your CPU temperature?  The simplest and easiest way is to change the thermal compound.  This should be done at least once a year.  Older thermal compounds cannot transfer heat well, resulting in higher temperatures.

If you still have a high temperature or you want to upgrade your system, you may want to consider buying a later CPU cooler.  This is a huge investment because you can use a good cooler for 10 years.

But does the nature of the games you play affect CPU temperature?  This is definitely because CPU-enabled games maximize CPU, resulting in higher CPU speeds.  If you often play RTS games like Civilization and Total War, you will see higher temperatures while playing something like League of Legends. The CPU is one of the most important parts of your computer and can get quite hot while playing games.  So, what is the normal CPU temperature during gaming?  Generally, the temperature should be around 80 ° C (176 ° F).  If the occasional temperature reaches 85 ° C (185 ° F), you need not worry as this is normal.

But if your CPU stays at that temperature all the time and goes even higher, then you have more heat issues that you should take care of as it will affect the age of your CPU.
