The good news is that bed bugs aren’t really dangerous. The amount of blood they suck is minute and they are not known to carry any diseases. However, their bites do tend to leave a raised red mark which is very itchy and many people develop a red rash that accompanies the bites.

How Bed Bugs Get into Your Home
Bed bugs are excellent at hitchhiking. They will climb into purses, handbags, and even suitcases. They can also cling to soft furnishings, such as your bedsheets. That’s why it’s best to be careful when visiting a hotel. Check the room before you open your bag and, keep it elevated and zipped shut all the time.
It reduces the likelihood of bed bugs hitching a ride to your home. Of course, they can also crawl between rooms in your house and they are so small that you are unlikely to notice them moving.
Eliminating The Bed Bugs
Getting the professionals in makes sense. But, there are a few things you can do to help them.
Firstly, take a good look at your bedroom and remove any clutter. That are items that are rarely used and are simply creating hiding places for the bedbugs.
If you think you have bed bugs you should also wash your sheets. It’s best to strip your bed and place the bedding into a plastic bag. Seal this and carry it to your washing machine. Empty the contents into the machine and wash on high. Critically, reseal the bag and throw it into the bin.
To ensure the bedbugs have been killed dry your bedding in the dryer on a high setting for at least 30 minutes, this kills bed bugs.
You can also vacuum your room, preferably after sprinkling it with bed bug killer. Vacuum every corner of your room and the soft furnishings. This will help to eliminate any bedbugs in the room and prevent a new colony from taking hold.
Don’t forget to seal up cracks in your home, this will prevent bed bugs from moving around and other pests from getting in.
It can take several attempts to eliminate the bed bugs but it’s worth doing it properly to ensure they are all gone.
