Different Types of CBD

There is a range of CBD products available, and these can be consumed in different ways. There are four primary methods, and each requires a different dosage.

Oral – This includes CBD gummies, drinks, and other CBD products that you swallow. Usually, a higher dose is required, and onset time can take between 30-90 minutes, lasting 4+ hours. These CBD capsules are just one example.

Inhalation – Using a CBD vape allows a smaller dose to be taken, as the onset times can be as quick as 1 minute and can last up to 5 hours.

Sublingual – CBD oil gets dropped under the tongue if you wish to feel the effects in under 20 minutes. A lower dose can get used as it enters the bloodstream almost instantly. This can last for up to 6 hours.

Topical – A higher dose is usually required for topical application as the CBD doesn’t enter the bloodstream. Onset time can be around 5 minutes, with effects being felt for around 5 hours.

How Much CBD is Too Much?

If you’re worried about taking too much CBD, it will comfort you to know that research suggests that even high doses of 1,500mg can be tolerated by the body.

Side effects of taking too much can include drowsiness, fatigue, diarrhea, and nausea. Certainly unpleasant, but not life-threatening.
